به آزاد


شهر به شهر
کشور به کشور
در کنسرت‌های انبوهت
کودکان تبعید را دیدار می‌کنی:

در برلن, ستاره را
که در هشت‌ماهگی از مرز گذشت
و اینک پسر سه‌ساله‌اش الیاس
فارسی، دری و آلمانی حرف می‌زند

در استهکلم، رزا را
که در شانزده‌ماهگی پدرش را
در میدان تیر از دست داد
و در چارسالگی اولین شعرش را نوشت.

تو زاده‌ی آن اضطرابی
هر چند بیرون از ایران
به جهان آمدی
و امروز "پرتقالهای احساسی" ات را
به سوی هر کس پرتاب کنی.

City to city
Country to country
In your packed concerts
You meet children of exile:

In Berlin, Setareh
Who crossed the border at eight months old
And now her three-year-old son  Elias
Speaks Persian, Dari and German;

In Stockholm, Rosa
Who at sixteen months old
Lost her father in the execution field
And at age four wrote her first poem.

You were born of that anxiety
Although you came to the world
Outside of Iran
And today you throw your Emotional Oranges
Toward everybody.
