گاوهای ابن یمین
ابن یمین شاعر دو گاو داشت.
یکی را "امیر" نامید
و دیگری را "وزیر".
عصرها در علفزار
کنار آنها می نشست
و به روزگاری می اندیشید
که در دربار "سربداران " سبزوار
برای این و آن مدیحه می گفت.
گاوها به آرامی نشخوار می کردند
و گاهی به او می نگریستند.
ابن یمین شعر تازه اش را برای آنها می خواند
و پیش از آنکه هوا تاریک شود
امیر و وزیر را به سوی باربند می راند
تا دخترش گاوها را بدوشد
و ابن یمین صله اش را بگیرد.

Ibn Yamin's Cows
Ibn Yamin*, the poet, had two cows.
He called one of them “Emir”
And the other “Vizier”.
Every evening in the meadow
He sat next to them
And thought of the time
When he composed panegyric
For this prince and that minister
In the court of Sarbedaran of Sabzevar.
His cows chewed their cud slowly
And sometimes looked at him.
Ibn Yamin read them his new poem
And before it grew dark
He drove Emir and Vizier toward the stable
So that his daughter could milk the cows
And Ibn Yamin receive his reward.
