از پنجره آویختهام.
پس چرا نمیآیی؟
قناریها
در اتاق آفتابگیرت
همچنان میخوانند
و مادرت در آشپزخانه
"دوپیازهآلو" سرخ میکند.
میدانم رفتهای
تا برای من و عزت
خانهای امن بیابی.
میدانم رفتهای
سر قرار دختری بلندبالا
با خطی از "عشقی" زیر لب.
من به قناریها
آب و دانه دادهام.
مادرت سفره را چیده
و حافظ را گشوده.
بوی نارنج شیراز میآید
و صدای کفشهای پاشنهبلند.
کاکو جان, کجایی؟
پس چرا نمیآیی؟

In the kitchen.

To find a safe house
For Ezzat and me.

To see a stately girl comrade
Humming an Eshqi* ‘s line.
I have watered and fed
The canaries.
Your mother has set the table
And has opened the Hafez.*
Here come
The scent of Shiraz bitter oranges
And the sound of high-heeled shoes.
