آتش‌بس

آتش‌بس را پاس بدارید
تا از آن
صلحی پایدار برآید
که چون سرو کاشمر
سر به آسمان بساید.
در سایه‌ی آن
جا برای همه هست
و بر شاخه‌های آن
مرغان خوشخوان آشیان دارند.

باشد که بمب‌افکنها
دیگر بمب نریزند.
باشد که موشکها
دیگر نشانه نکوبند.
باشد که رهبران
دیگر دروغ نگویند.

بگذار کودکان
به بستر بازگردند.
آنها دیرزمانی‌ست
که از بیم آوار
به زیر میز پناه برده‌اند.
باشد که فردا
به مدرسه بازگردند.

Respect the ceasefire

So that from it

Will grow a lasting peace
Which touches the sky
Like the cypress of Kashmar.
In its shade
There is room for everyone
And on its limbs
Nest melodic birds.

May the bombers
No longer drop bombs.
May the missiles
No longer hit targets.
May the leaders
No longer tell lies.

Let the children
Return to their beds.
For a long time
They have been sheltering under tables
Scared of the rubble.
May they tomorrow
Return to school.
